The Moray Monster Trails

All trails in Ordiquish will be closed from the 5th January 2009 for approx 2 months for timber haulage and harvesting work. This affects the Soup Dragon, Haggis, Gordzilla, Gully Monster and the Skills Area.
With 30km of fun-packed singletrack mountain bike routes, there’s something here to feed the monster in everyone! Whether you’re totally new to off-road mountain biking, or a seriously expert rider looking for big thrills, there’s a trail here that’s just right for you, from an easy green-graded track to severe black-grade trails and orange-graded downhill and Northshore sections. Facilities and contact details are listed at the foot of the page The trailsThe main Moray Monster Trails work as three independent sites, but they are linked link to each other, so for those with a truly monster appetite and stamina to match, try all three sites end to end, from Fochabers to Craigellachie. The green-graded trail is at Quarrelwood, by Elgin. Ordiequish by Fochabers Start at Ordiequish if you’re looking for moderate-graded routes, the skills area and the infamous black-graded Gully Monster. Turn off the A96 by the chip shop in the middle of Fochabers, stay on this road for approx 1km to find the car park. Whiteash (winding walks) Red- and orange-graded routes, including the Fochabers Freeride. To get to the Winding Walks car park, follow the A98 (towards Buckie) for 1km out of Fochabers. Ben Aigan Sustained red and black grade routes with a big hill feel, as well as The (pink fluffy) Bunny. Access the car park off the A95 near Mulben. What you need To get started we recommend a basic mountain bike with suspension forks – nothing too fancy. Bike hire is available in the area (see facilities, below). Please wear a helmet. The your safety page has more details. Parking You can park at each of the three main start points. The car parks are permanently open. Quarrelwood has two car parks.
