From Dumfries
From the town centre, follow signs for the A710 (Solway Coast). If arriving in Dumfries via the A75 from Gretna, follow the A780 then A756 through the town to get to the A710. If approaching Dumfries from the west, turn off the A75 at the roundabout at New Cargen Bridge onto the A780 and follow signs for the A710.
Head south on the A710, passing through Islesteps. Ignore the right turn shortly before Mabie forest that leads to the A711 (signposted Mabie Park Farm) and continue on for another 1km. Take the right turn here, signposted for the forest, and follow the road for around 1km to reach the car park.
From Carlisle
Follow the A74 north and then turn onto the A75 at Gretna. Take the A75 west towards Dumfries and then follow the A780 then A756 through the town to get to the A710. Once on the A710, follow the directions above to Mabie.
From Stranraer
Head east on the A75 and turn off onto the A780 via the roundabout at New Cargen Bridge. Follow signs for the A710 and then the directions above to get to Mabie.
From Edinburgh
Follow the A702 south through Biggar to join the M74 at junction 13 (Abington). Continue to junction 15 (Beattock) and turn off onto the A701 to Dumfries. See instructions above for getting to Mabie from Dumfries town centre.
