Barhill
This mixed woodland of broadleaves and conifers offers wonderful views across the Solway Firth and is just outside the attractive bustling town of Kirkcudbright. The swards of spring flowers are an enchanting sight and fills the nose with pleasure and the heart with joy. There are three walks of varying difficulty to challenge you.
How to get there:
Barhill is part of Galloway Forest Park. Kirkcudbright is the nearest town or village.
From Newton Stewart:
A75 signposted Dumfries, turn right just after gatehouse of fleet onto the A755 signposted Kirkcudbright. Straight on through Kirkcudbright, then turn left, up past Safeway's, straight on for half a mile then right into the carpark.
From New Galloway:
A762 to Ringford, turn right onto the A75 for a few miles ,turn left onto the A762 signposted Kirkcudbright.
