Cally Wood car park
 

The carpark is set in broad leaved trees and is the starting point for the three waymarked trails. The carpark has picnic benches and an unmanned information point so you can relax and browse either before or after your hike.

How to get there:

Cally Wood car park is in Cally Wood which is part of Galloway Forest Park. Gatehouse of Fleet is the nearest town or village.

From Newton Stewart:, Leave Newton Stewart on the A75 heading towards Dumfries, turn left signposted Gatehouse of Fleet (19 miles). Straight through Gatehouse heading for the Cally Palace hotel, turn right into the Cally Palace hotel and the carpark is on the left., From New Galloway;, Take the A762 heading for Laurieston, from Laurieston take the Gatehouse road signposted Gatehouse of Fleet from Laurieston. Turn left at Gatehouse of Fleet heading for the Cally Palace hotel. Turn right into the Cally Palace hotel and the carpark is on the left.
