How to get there:

Town Wood Car Park is in Dalbeattie Forest which is part of Forests of the Solway Coast. Dalbeattie and Colvend are the nearest towns or villages.

Leave Dalbeattie on the A710, heading south towards Colvend. All forest walks start from the 'Town Wood' car park (the first car park on the left). All bike trails start from the 'Richorn Trailhead' (the second car park on the left). The nearest train station is in Dumfries.
