Kings Pool Car Park is in Castle O'er Forest which is part of Forests of the Southern Uplands. Eskdalemuir, Lockerbie, and Langholm are the nearest towns or villages.
Reach Eskdalemuir on the B723 from Lockerbie, or the B709 from Langholm, then head south on the minor road to Castle O'er. There are separate car parks at Bessie's Hill, Castle O'er and Kings Pool, with walks starting from each one. The nearest train station is in Lockerbie.
