Recreation at Earshaigs

Tucked away in the hills behind Beattock, the short walk at Earshaigs shares part of its route with the Southern Upland Way. Two small lochs offer the chance to see wildlife such as ducks and herons, whilst the surrounding grassy areas are ideal picnic spots.

How to get there:

Earshaigs is part of Forests of the Southern Uplands. Beattock and Moffat are the nearest towns or villages.

From Moffat, pass under the roundabout and leave the roundabout heading for Beattock. Turn right up a minor road following signs for the 'Countryside Trail' and cycle route number 10. After approximately 2 miles, the road enters the forest and leads on to a small car park on the left.
